Ghanaian Housemates, Attitude And The Big Brother Game. How Are These Candidates Selected?

Confidence Haugen

If you think there is no such thing as bad publicity, try being Eazzy or DKB on an international stage, goofing when you need to be winning and putting your promoters to shame.
How a beautiful African woman refuses to go on stage just because of Brazilian hair is beyond my comprehension. Talk of ‘graceful’ exits? Haha!
And DKB? Really? I wonder if his girlfriend suffers the same fate at his hands every time she does something wrong to him. You take a God-given opportunity to shine and throw it to the dogs all for what? Just so you can slap a lady who ‘provoked’ you.
Whatever happened to good thinking and ambition?
Now do we dismiss these as isolated issues or do we tackle the underlying attitude problems of almost all the big brother representatives Ghana has presented-past and present?
How come over the years no Ghanaian Housemate has taken us far enough?
The only hope I presently see at longevity in the big brother house is KEITTA. A really decent chap!…That is just me ‘talking’, if you think he is not a decent chap, say it loud using the comment box.

Sammi B-Season 1

He at least did relatively better than most, he was himself and treated people nicely. No unnecessary airs even when he went back in season 5 for all stars. A gentleman in his own rights.
Kwaku T. Season 2

Kwaku T- Season 2

A grown man who somehow still believes he is a dashing young man who can feed off his looks and 15 minutes in the big brother house.
Mimi. Season 3.

I do not need to school anybody on this Talentless young woman’s attitude. I believe it’s something all of Ghana knows.

The Ghanaian who went into the house as a Jamaican? Tell me about it! He left the house before we could even blink.

From the rude stay to the unladylike moves to the brash exit? I really expected more from this particular ‘diva’.  Putting everybody in the house beneath her ‘haute couture’ self. If big brother and its conditions are below you, why go?

With the exception of just a few, the main issue has been the attitude of these housemates. Why can’t they just decline to go so other contenders can have a good chance?

What exactly is the procedure for selecting candidates? Don’t tell me lobbying does not work. Should we really keep lobbying and tarnishing the general image or let simpler people go?

Your opinion? Let it out!

  2. Hmmmmm…….D̶̲̥̅̊έA̶̲̥̅̊я writer, eazzy is not to be blame…….I guess you didn’t follow the whole show well……$ђe demanded for something inwhich biggie told her not to bring to the house cos he is going to provide…..but unfailingly biggie didn’t provide……what do you except…..U̶̲̥̅̊ are just writing trash about your people…..eazzy knew $ђe is going, $ђe wanted to look good, c’mon, U̶̲̥̅̊ can’t just appear onscreen looking uncomfortable ……why using African woman to described Eazzy……think well before you write…you are just there to spoil the career inwhich people have built for years……think about that and try to say good stuffs about your countrymen…..

  3. Cool article and yes they’re fair questions to ask! Though I have too strongly disagree with ur opinion of Keitta being a decent chap. Eazzy did not have sex on tv by herself! If ppl are embarrassed by her behaviour, letz extend the courtesy to Keitta also. Besides what decent man wud disgrace his woman by having sex with her on tv for his own gain? a man who loves and respects you would not allow such. Anyway as most ppl know Big brother is a social experiment about human behaviour and exploration. Sooooo funny ppl go in there thinking THEY have a game plan! BB picks these guys for entertainment value! And that’s EXACTLY what Ezzay and Keitta have done for the African viewers. I mean what do the contestants really think? You’ll just be handed over cash for nothing?? No, they put ppl in there based on their tendencies to show themselves up in a bid win the money! Besides how entertaining wud it be for you if they put someone like boring old Nadia u surely rather have Yvonne in there!  You know I’m right lol

  4. Some of you people because they say something bad about your friends you just insult without reason. If a celebrity did something wrong shouldn’t they say it?

  6. X’tian, if you will kindly read over again, I am sure you will realize I didn’t speak only about Eazzy and most importantly I knew exactly what I was saying. What I do not know is what YOU are saying. Can you be clear on your point? Because you seem to be saying big brother not allowing her into the house with Brazilian hair and not providing her with it gives her reason to behave the way she did? I think you should let people know when they do wrong so they can work on it not accept it because you share certain sentiments where that particular person is concerned. That is wrong.
And kwame, do explain your opinion properly because you only threw a couple of words around . No point made except to show your irritation.

  7. Nice Article! I agree with u 98.9%. Eazzy has added nuttin to her already sinking career. I agree with Chris that Eazzy has just been used to kick off Keitta’s modelling career. Her manager and friends has done her a great disservice…
And for DKB, tbh i wont exactly chastise him. If u re-watch da diary, the day he slapped Zainab, you’d appreciate his position at that particular moment. Mahn his ego was bruised. And remember, a man’s EGO is all that keeps him going. He just wanted to warn her not to repeat that act again. And typical of Zainab (and most women), she would have none of it. So taking advantage of the ‘never-hit-a-woman’ ‘tradition’, she cynically refuses to keep her mouth shut and this woulda resulted resulted in a heated argument everywhere; mind u. DKB warned her he would slap her if she doesnt keep quiet yet she stubbornly refused to back down and even went ahead to dare him and threw herself at him and what resulted is history. So whilst u are criticising DKB, it would also be fair to chastise Zainab. To everything, there is a limit!

  8. I did my best in the big brother house. So i find it unfair and damaging when someone hides behind a computer and writes “From the rude stay to the unladylike moves to the brash exit? I really expected more from this particular ‘diva’. Putting everybody in the house beneath her ‘haute couture’ self. If big brother and its conditions are below you, why go?” Wow ghanacelebrities you will never stop giving me bad publicty, well done. Confidence Haugen .
