Actor Van Vicker has said that, he is sure to pick home at least one award out of his three nominations at the 3rd Ghana Movie Awards slated for Christmas Day, December 25 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

After many years of bring quality entertainment to several households as an actor, Van Vicker embarked on a journey to produce his own movies under the production house, Sky Orange.

With less than four years as a producer and a director, Van Vicker has single-handedly produced and directed four movies, which are beginning to be get acknowledgement.

The soft spoken actor entered two of his movies ‘Hands of Time’ and ‘Joni Waka’, a comedy movie done in both Twi and English which features the award winning actor, Kofi Adu also  known as Agya Koo to be considered for the 3rd edition of the annual Ghana Movie Awards.

He managed to get three nominations; Best Cinematography, Best Picture as well as getting a nomination in the Best Actor In A Lead Role category with ‘Joni Waka’.

An excited Van who witnessed the announcement of the nominees in Accra told GhanaCelebrities.Com that, “What I’m about to say is not necessarily trying to be good or trying to sound good or trying to say something that is good to the public but I sincerely, truly mean that I’m happy to be part of the list even if I don’t win.”

He continued that, “If I don’t win, I’m glad. I can still add [nominations] that to my list of achievements that, it’s [movies] been entered into the awards ceremony and it came out as one of the nominees.”

He said having worked hard over the years, losing all the three nominated categories will still make him happy because he values the nominations which mean a lot to him.

Van said he is confident of picking home at least one out of three awards.

“If all the three nominations, I don’t win any, I’m happy but I also on the other hand feel that, I will win at least one out of the three.”

The Ghana Movie Awards organizers have released another list (final) of nominees and ‘Joni Waka’ has gotten two more extra nominations; Best Music – Original Score and Best Directing Local Language.
