John Dramani Mahama Beats Nana Akufo-Addo To Become President Of Ghana

Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Dr. Afari-Gyan has declared John Dramani Mahama as the winner of the 2012 general elections.

He obtained 5,574,761 votes representing 50.70% of the total vote cast, whiles his closest rival Nana Akufo-Addo of the NPP got 5,248,989 representing 47.74.

Before the announcement, Dr Afari-Gyan who is also the Returning Officer of the Presidential Elections apologised for the late announcement of the results.
