Is There A Shortage Of Black Models…White Model Poses As An African Queen In New Fashion Editorial

Is it that there are no black models out there or is it that black people are not good enough even in our own skin color? Why would Numéro magazine run an editorial titled, “African Queen.”  and then instead of getting a black model for it, they rather got a white model (Caucasian 16-year-old, blond-haired, blue-eyed Ondria Hardin) and paint her black?

It is extensively sickening and out of order. What is this supposed to tell the many black models and aspiring models out there? I know the statement being made here-It is simple as, you are not good for anything and when we need a black models, we will get one of our white people to play black-and we bet she will come out better than yourself.

This goes beyond an industry problem, it is racist, discriminatory and total disregard for the black race. When you come across some of these things, it makes you wonder what some people really take place people for in this world…

And if you thinking it is an error of judgement, you would like to know that  this is not the first time Numéro magazine has done this. In 2010, they dressed Caucasian model Constance Jablonski up in an afro wig and slightly darker makeup, to portray her as a black mother.
