The Miss Ghana Foundation has begun its ten regional mentoring program, with senior high schools in the Northern Region of Ghana.

This initiative will be spearheaded by the Miss Ghana Foundation Ambassadors; Miss Ghana 2012, Miss Naa Okailey Shooter and her two runner ups; Miss Nadia Ntanu and Miss Jennifer Anna.

The objective of this programme the Foundation says “is to help develop and instill soft skills that will help improve the academic performance of adolescent young ladies, as well as prepare them for work and life in general”. Topics to be handled include Entrepreneurship, ICT, and Marketing.

“The Foundation seeks to nurture the entrepreneurial attitude in our youth, improve upon poor academic performances, and help reduce the number of teenage pregnancies and school dropouts, in the long term”.

The first session was held at the Tamale Girls International School. The hour long session saw over five hundred students interact with the queens.

“You must wait till marriage to have sex… There is no need to rush,” Miss Shooter told the students, generating an overwhelming applause.

“This is the most crucial part of your life. You can become who you want to be only when you take your lessons serious… make good use of the available opportunities to improve yourself.’
