Series Of Blasts In Nigeria This Evening Kill At Least 25, Islamists Suspected

Nigeria

Hmmm! When will this END?

BBC Reports;

At least 20 people have been killed in a series of explosions at a bus station in the northern Nigerian city of Kano, witnesses say.

Several buses were destroyed in the Sabon Gari area of the city, home to a large population of Christians from the south of the country.

Kano is the largest city in the mainly Muslim north of Nigeria.

No group has said it carried out the blasts but Islamist militants from Boko Haram have attacked Kano several times.

One eye witness told the BBC’s Hausa service that he had seen 20 bodies after the blasts.

Soldiers cordoned off the area after the blasts.

In January 2012, around 150 people died in Kano in a series of co-ordinated attacks by Boko Haram.

Also on Monday, an audio tape emerged claiming to be from Boko Haram.

In it the group demanded the release of its members it says are being held in Nigeria and Cameroon in exchange for seven French nationals kidnapped in Cameroon last month.

Earlier this month, another militant Islamist organisation, Ansaru, claimed to have killed seven foreign hostages seized in the northern Nigerian state of Bauchi in February.

    • @Echa, which kind of challenges which are worser than this???

      Name them ,

Terrorism is a pandemic than any thing to happen to a country, ask Iraq or Afghanistan or our own African brothers Somalia, they use religion to cause atrocities, instead of you to bow and pray to God so that everything will calm down you are here shoving your shoulders with a country which is a father of democracy in africa.

Keep bragging whilst your country is on fire.

Oh yes Nigeria is in peace

  4. While do u guys always wanting to start a fight. This is a terrorist attack and for now every country in west Africa is prone to it especially with the offensive attacks going on in Mali. Even with the challenges facing Nigeria it is still standing STRONG even better economically, politically and otherwise than some smaller Africa countries. She is still the second bigger economy in Africa and first in west Africa,She still has the highest FDI(coming to Africa), she still has the third biggest film industry in the world and is the headquarters of ENTERTAINMENT IN AFRICA. She has and still playing host to world leaders(currentlly the president of LEBANON is in Nigeria), President Mahama was in Nigeria days after winning the election. So what’s the point Nigeria has its challenges so also is ‘Ghana’. The last time i check our brother Ghana’FATHER OF PEACE’ is still not within the TOP 10 ECONOMies IN AFRICA. So pls solve your problems first before reminding us of ours. PEACE.

  12. I’m very disheartened to keep reading comments on this website that have to do with Ghanaians arguing with or even insulting Nigerians & vice-versa. It’s really sad. I wonder what at all is wrong with us Africans that we hate each other so much. In our own countries, we hate other people who’re not from our ethnic group. It’s so bad that majority of African countries have fought some form of civil war where innocent children ended up as victims. Still, we’re not satisfied. We even hate Africans who’re not from our country. We have done worse things to our own blood brothers than the Colonialists ever did to us. For the last time everyone CEASE FIRE! Enough is enough. Ghana & Nigeria are one. PERIOD.

  15. @27cдгibre(Ф_ф), papa, u are dam too old to hav spit such words against your twin country. I thought words of wisdom is usually attributed to the aged? Dont knw where u threw yours. Having said that, I think it is expedient that you know this. Ten years ago, there was no issue of terrorism in Nigeria. It actually took the Islamic sect years of strategizing alongside the aid of some unscrupolous islamic leaders b4 they invaded Naija. I pray they don’t come 4 u in Ghana coz like I say, we use to hear their story just like u pple!
