They say life begins at 40 and for actor Adjetey Anang also known as Pusher, his 40^th started well with a surprise birthday party which was organized under the tutelage of his wife-Elorm with the help of the actor’s close friends.

Surely Adjetey Anang doesn’t look 40 years but the reality is that, he turned 40 last Sunday-July 8, 2013.

As an actor, he has witnessed several surprises on set but on his 40th birthday, his wife gave him an extraordinary surprise which we believe would be on his mind for a very long time due to events that preceded the star-studded-private-surprise-party inside Meeting Room 4 at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra.

The initial idea was that, lights at the venue would be switched off, so that when Adjetey enters the room, the lights would be put back on as guests shouts ‘Surprise! Surprise!! Surprise!!!’.

However, Actors Majid Michel and Wakefield Ackuaku (Artistic Director at Ananseman Playhouse) thought that, clever ‘Pusher’ would suspect something if the lights were off.

Another plan was coined which eventually worked the magic and nearly brought out the ‘beast’ in Adjetey Anang.

The new plan was communicated to the wife via SMS. I am not going to tell you how the wife managed to convince and got him out of the house to the venue—-remember, she’s his wife and knows him better.

When ‘Pusher’ and his wife got to Meeting Room 4, the waiters requested for their ‘buffet tickets’. Because they didn’t have these tickets, there was a little misunderstanding. Adjetey who is naturally shy felt very embarrassed.

“A whole me being embarrassed in this manner and on my birthday?” he might have said to himself.

The misunderstanding continued for a while… In order to explain things to the waiters, the wife beckoned Adjetey to go in for her to settle whatever it is with the waiters at the entrance.

Adjetey opened the door and immediately the lights were put back on. The shouting started and the rest they say is history.

Guests at the gathering were people who are very special to her husband—Adjetey’s wife told GhanaCelebrities.Com.

They were; Adjetey’s mum, sister and in-law, wife’s (Elorm) parents, Majid Michel and wife, Wakefield Ackuaku, Ama K. Abebrese, Yvonne Okoro, Joselyn Dumas, Roland Adom, Ekow Smith Asante, Shirley Frimpong Manso, Ken Attoh, Jackie Appiah, Senanu Gbedawo, Lydia Laryea and Naa Ashorkor.

The actor’s school mates and some of the people he grew up with were also there to share the big day with him.

Speaking exclusively to GhanaCelebrities.Com, Adjetey said “Even though I felt embarrassed at the entrance, it was worth it. I’m very grateful.”
