Published by

Being an active player in Regional Politics and Military Operations come with uncertain consequences, especially when you are dealing with extremists who operate on unreasonable minds…

It is therefore not shocking that UK has warned its citizens of a possible attack in Ghana due to the country’s participation in the military intervention operation in Mali.

According to Citiffmonline;

The British government has issued a warning to its citizens of possible retaliatory attacks in Ghana due to its participation in the intervention in Mali.

This was contained in the travel information offered to UK citizens on its website saying, “there is an underlying threat from terrorism. Attacks could be indiscriminate, including in places visited by expatriates and foreign travellers. There is a possibility of retaliatory attacks in Ghana due to its participation in the intervention in Mali.”

Ghana has committed about 120 soldiers to join troops from France and other African countries to Mali in connection with Islamist militants.

The engineering regiments of the Ghana Armed Forces have been in Mali this year to offer support in dealing with the crises.

Ghana has also made a $3 million financial support to the African-led force for Mali (AFISMA).

The alert also went to other African countries committing troops to Mali.

Meanwhile the British High Commission in Ghana has stated that it will make a public comment on the issue on Friday.
