Does Having Braids Make You A ‘Wifey’ Material? | My Male Friend Says YES!

Published by

Somewhere last week during a chat with a male friend of mine, a very pretty girl with simple but very beautiful braids walked pass. My friend instantly remarked that such a lady would be a very good “wifey” material.  I found it very interesting that he could establish this by just her hairstyle.

I asked to know the reason for this point of view; and surprisingly I was told having braids were a sure sign of modesty.

My friend explained further that from his experience, girls who had braids, instead of the very expensive Brazilian weaves, were less likely to drain your bank account if you date them. According to my friend, after learning from past experiences, he tries as much as possible to avoid approaching girls with unnecessary long weave, long nails, artificial eyelashes and excessive make up.

I took a moment to decipher all he said, and to also analyze if there was any truth hiding somewhere. I do agree with him that braids makes one look very simple and put together but I also believe that no woman should be judged based on the type of hairstyle she decides wear.

The girl you see rocking braids today could very well be wearing bundles of 28 inches Brazilian hair at another time. There surely is more to a woman that what she puts on her head.

Before I drop things, let question the whole notion of “wifey” material. What exactly makes one a “wifey material? Is there a special tape to measure this supposed material? In my honest opinion, the main component that holds a marriage is two (2) people who must have total understanding of each other. “Wifey” material or not, if the two (2) people involved do not have this key element, it would be difficult for any marriage to survive.

I want to hear the opinions and experiences of the guys. Do you prefer girls with braids over Brazilian hair? Do you believe braids make girls more “wifey” materials? What exactly constituents a “wifey” material for you? And what do you think of girls who wear excessively long weaves?

If you are still single under those weaves, I guess this is the time to give braids a try!
