Did They Really Say That? Reports Say Akon & Wizkid SACKED Several Dark Skinned Models & Requested That Light Skinned Models Should Be Brought Instead | During Their Video Shoot In Ghana

Akon Video Shoot in Ghana

Akon and Wizkid were recently in Ghana to shoot a music video for their collabo- Roll It with Banky W, and most of us were glad that despite the many countries they could have gone to shoot the video, they settled for Ghana.

However, reports which seem to have been put out by some of the models who were supposed to be part of the video shoot as vixens have it that when they got to the location, the dark skinned models were turned away.

And that, Akon and Wizkid requested through the various modelling agency that they do not want the dark skinned models—-but wanted light skinned ones, preferably mixed race models.

The insult on the dark skinned models was aggravated by subsequent request that, if they know of any light skinned young girls, they should kindly supply their details or call them over…

This is not much of a big issue since we all have preference in life but what is the point in going to a country with majority of its people being dark to make such request in the face of the various dark skinned models you ‘wrongly’ requested?

Why didn’t they shoot the video in a country where they can actually find REAL white people if that is what they wanted, instead of adding to the many image issues dark skinned models are already facing by treating them this way?

I guess that is why bleaching is not going anywhere soon—-it seems more admirable and profitable to be light skinned even in Africa…

  8. ah? where did this Ghana-Nigeria “battle” come from? Y’all deviating from the issue at hand. It aint a Gh Naija thing though I’m tempted to join but,

Like the writer rightly said, “This is not much of a big issue since we all have preferences “. Now, What if they requested for shorter models? Would we say they are discriminating against the taller ones? Or say they had asked for only darkskin girls, will we be here discussing this issue about discrimination? Cos, in that case, the fairer girls will also feel discriminated against, don’t you think? So at the end of the day, it’s a matter of choice.. that’s all. It’s high time us Ghanaians grow past such pettiness. Some of us are too sensitive when it comes to this darkskin-lightskin issue. If u are insecure about your skin colour and will like to dwell on this issue to bleach, then so be it. cos obvi, you dont even know your worth. What these artistes did is express their preference for the mixed models, not WHITE lol so go find someone else to feed your self esteem needs if you’re butt-hurt over this.

Btw I don’t even think the story is true.
