Yaya Toure Named 2013 BBC African Footballer of the Year

After about 5 nominations, Ivory Voast and Manchester City midfielder-Yaya Toure has won the 2013 BBC African Footballer of the year award, beating Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan, Kwadwo Asamoah and several other top African players who were nominated…

Ghana’s Michael Essien (2006), Sammy Kuffour (2001), Andre ‘Dede’ Ayew (2011) and Asamoah Gyan (2010) have all won the the award in the past.

According to BBC;

Yaya Toure has won the 2013 BBC African Footballer of the Year award.

The Ivory Coast and Manchester City midfielder, who had had been nominated in each of the past four years, beat Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Victor Moses, John Mikel Obi and Jonathan Pitroipa to this year’s crown.

Though Ghana failed to WIN any award at this year’s Channel O Music Video Awards which took place on Saturday at Walter Sisulu Square in Kliptown Soweto, South Africa, Ghana’s E.L, D-Black, Sisiter Deborah, Sarkodie and others made it to awards…

From Deborah Vanessa’s over-revealing dress to Sarkodie photographed hand in hand with an unknown woman, it surely must have been a wonderful experience for the Ghanaians who were out there—despite their disappointment.

Though this sounds like some sci-fi movie, Amazon says this is one of their on-going research to help with speedy delivery.

Apart from it being more of a futuristic idea which may never come to pass, all I can think of now is series of lawsuits against Amazon if this ever becomes a reality—imagine the DRONES crashing into people as they carry packages around.

And what will happen if I am not at home and the DRONE comes to deliver my parcel? Oh what about someone pulling a DRONE down and stealing my parcel?

Sounds fun but not really something that I believe will ever work…

According to The Guardian;

Amazon is testing delivering its parcels using drones, the company’s CEO has revealed. The company hopes to have the scheme up and running within five years.

Jeff Bezos unveiled the idea, which would be known as Amazon Prime Air, on the American news program 60 Minutes on Sunday night.

“The big idea is half-hour delivery,” he said. “You order something and within half an hour you can have a drone land on your front porch, drop off a little box and off it goes.”

Apart from the sex scenes which may be tasteful or tasteless depending on where you are coming from, we are told the story of the movie revolves around Esaba (being played by Joselyn Dumas) who is trying to get out of an abusive marriage to millionaire husband Marc (Jon Germain).

The trailer doesn’t say much but for those who love Leila Djansi’s movies, another is on its way for you!
