It was pretty cold this weekend so together with my boyfriend, we went through some of our old DVDs, looking for those movies we fell asleep while watching—so we can watch them again.
We settled on several movies including the 2011 comedy film-HALL PASS, starring stars Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis, Stephen Merchant, Jenna Fische and others…
If you have not already watched this movie, I think you should try and see it. Meanwhile, for the purpose of this article, let me try and summarize the relevance of the movie to this piece.
In ‘HALL PASS’, two men were married but as typical of most men, both men were unhappy with their married lives and missed the old days when they were single. Annoyingly, they continued to check out other girls whenever they stepped out with their wives—and it was even worse when their wives were not around.
These grown up married men spent a lot of their time talking about ‘CHICKS’ and ‘SEX’. It got so unbearable that with an advice from a friend, the wives of these two men decided to give them a “Hall Pass” which is; “a week off from marriage during which they can have sex with other women”. The men were skeptical at first, but ultimately accept the offers and went out there with friends to pick up women…
‘HALL PASS’ seems to have a psychological element in there, suggesting that, if you tell your man not to do something, as human as he is, he will want to do that thing. However, if you give him the freedom to do it, it is more likely that he would not even do it…
So in the movie, these men had their 7 days ‘HALL PASS’ to go out there and do all they want in order to get things out of their system. Their wives went away and shockingly, they wasted all the 7 days without even getting laid…In fact, on some of the days, they just SLEPT throughout…
After we finished the movie, my laughing boyfriend said; why don’t you give me a HALL PASS too? Even though I did not say anything back, the way I looked at him pushed him to quickly say; oh I am joking…
I want to find out from the ladies, would you ever give your man a HALL PASS? What do you think of the concept of ‘HALL PASS’? Surely, it is annoying when your man can’t stop checking out other girls but is a ‘HALL PASS’ the way to go about bringing him under check?
Remember its just a movie, trying to construct a certain reality. Women, don’t fall into the trap.
I WILL GIVE MY MAN A HALL PASS ANYDAY AT ANYTIME IF HE WISHES TO, INFACT I WILL EVEN ADD UP MY BLESSINGS TO IT. AFTER ALL I DNT KNW WHAT HE DOES WHEN HES OUT OF MY REACH.
