After having made it unto the BBC and several top media platforms, Nigeria’s Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has sat down with CNN African Voices to talk about her childhood, career and the year’s ahead.

With Nollywood leading film-making in Africa and other industries fast falling behind, we should embrace ourselves for those Nollywood stars who work tireless day in and out to be recognized—and be given such vibrant platforms.

Omotola is said to have appeared in over 300 movies and became the first African celebrity to obtain 1 million fans (likes) on Facebook.
