Apparently, the Ghana international failed tests related to an old knee injury. The test results showed that Essien is still suffering from a knee injury that he suffered in the past.

It is understood that there are now major problems with the transfer and the Rossoneri could pull out of the deal, leaving Essien with another season of no play.

Michael Essien will undergo further stress tests at the Milan Lab in a bid to rescue the transfer, which would have been free for the club.
