Pastor Mensa Otabil Says ‘Prayers Won’t Change Ghana’s Economy’ | Where is Duncan Williams?

Several religious leaders across the world dwell on dogmatic views which mostly make them sound less intelligent than they really are…

Constantly throwing out non-working assumptions based on assumed powers of the Holy Spirit and Prayers, some pastors have gone as far as asking their church members not to even go to the hospital when sick. And others have even commanded a falling currency to rise when there is no evidence or reason to say this can ever happen.

Few weeks ago, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams spiritually “commanded” the falling cedi to “rise” and said prayers will bring the better economic that Ghana desperately needs.

Today, Pastor Dr. Mensa Otabil has said prayers cannot save Ghana’s economy nor improve it from its current circumstances—a clear indication that Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams was wrong. At least one of them is wrong as they are riding on parallel lines…

According to RadioXYZ;

Motivational Speaker Dr. Mensa Otabil says prayers cannot save Ghana’s economy nor improve it from its current circumstances.

“It’s time to stop having All Night prayer meetings for the change of economy,” the General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church told his Congregation on Sunday March 16, 2014, when he preached about: ‘The Power of Vision.’

He says rather than praying for the economy to improve, the Country must have a focused vision with a clear cut plan toward shoring up the economy.

“It’s time to plan, to work hard and to be focused,” Dr. Otabil admonished.

According to him, “every Nation that has moved from third world to developed world had a clear plan”.

“They didn’t hope that things will happen. They didn’t have All Night prayer meetings for the change of economy. They planned for change of economy,” Dr. Otabil added.

  1. In life Prayer answers everything. When we pray God can change the heart of the president and his leaders heart to do the right things. I disagree with Rev mensah otabil on this issue because prayer has always been where the action is, I am very disappointed at his response here. There’s been a time where i was in hardship, even thought i couldn’t make it in life but with the prayers i received from church pastors i was able to follow the right directions. Duncan Williams is only praying for God to tough the heart of the country’s financial controller to cut on their stupid spending and focus on the nation’s welfare, Which i believe prayers would do. We are in this together so lets all join hands in prayers than criticizing.

    • You are on point. we start and end our lives with prayers, the rev should have included that they can pray but the same time the leaders should take actions towards the economy.

  2. Whatttttt? this man paaa without prayers how can they have a focused vision with a clear cut plan toward shoring up the economy. Please a true believer always go on their knees before making plans. without the will of God, everything you do would be impossible. Enough said.

  3. I do not know what has become of our Pastors these days. They are more of politicians than the politicians. How can a man of God with the stature of Otabil dare say prayers cannot save Ghana’s economy? If prayers cannot save the economy and it is only planning and hard work then using the same argument prayers will not save our marriages, our homes, our children and businesses. We should work hard, plan well at home and businesses and not pray for anything. This is hypocricy to the highest standard. I support hard work, plan well and also pray. They all go together.

If you know the strategy and plan to wrestle the situation why not put it on paper and make it public to the government and show the implementation process for it to be executed that castigating your collegue pastors because they were praying for Ghana’s economy,
