MUST READ: Instagram, a World without Decency…

For some weird reasons which do not necessary bring any sort of financial gains, many social media users are keen on rallying as much followers as they can. And majority of these people will never be able to make money from these followers or build any real friendships with them but I guess it is the numbers that matter…

With an Instagram app on almost every social media users’ phone,  the competition for more followers based on what we post has become interesting—with many women downgrading the high standard of decency they once held, to be able post what will attract followers.

If you are reading this, take a quick trip through the Instagram photos of some of your favourite celebrities and friends (non-celebrities) and I am certain you will be shocked by the level of accepted nakedness on this platform.

What started with women posing with their protruding backsides and chest has literally turn into taking off the cloth for the camera. And the purpose is; to just get as many likes and followers as possible.

Before writing this piece, I took a long walk through the world of Instagram and couldn’t close my mouth going through some of the photos women cheerfully post, putting the most private parts of their bodies on full display just to score some virtual points.

When Instagram kicked in, it triggered an uprising of so called models with every young pretty woman posing for the camera but it seems things have taken a new turn as some of these women have found more strength in their raw bodies.

Gradually, the internet is succeeding in creating the borderless world we so much want, connecting each and every person to one another—but we forget that, what we post via the internet can come back to haunt us.

Even if we are not worried about being haunted in the future, must be forget that decency is the strongest personal conviction that adds value to our integrity and persona?

Must women post everything from their wet chests to their underwears on Instagram just to get a bunch of strangers to follower them or like these images? Are we that insecure to the extent that we will do all it takes regardless of decency and morals for this virtual glory of gaining followers?

  1. Thank God I do not have instagram because that site is becoming like a porn hub for some people to post their naked photos. I see what some of my friends post through their face and some are really disgusting
