Though late Fennec Okyere, when alive, once alleged he received threatening text messages which he suspected came from the quarters of MUSIGA, another revelation has it that he never reported the case to the police; hence, making investigation into his death difficult.

Below is how NEWS ONE reported the said story – threatening text messages/calls to Fennec Okyere:

“What started as a mere quarrel between the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) and Mad Time Entertainment on who has legal right to organize the Ghana Music Week (GMW) Festival, is getting out of hand as Fennec Okyere reports he has started receiving death threats.

“I have received calls from people who threaten me with death and ask me why I am worrying Obour over this Ghana Music Week thing and whether I do not know this is big money business,” Fennec, told NEWS ONE and said he was on his way to get the police involved.

“I know how to go about taking care of my security; and I am not taking chances at all. I have to report the threats to the police because we are all in this industry and I hear a lot of things,” Fennec added.”

After the above publication, Fennec Okyere, when interviewed, revealed to Kumasi based presenter called NDJ LIVE. The interview which the aforementioned presenter published is below – headlined: “I’m Not Scared of Faceless Threats” – Fennec Okyere.”

“Speaking on the action taken after the alleged threats, he disclosed he was not scared of “faceless threats” and was therefore going about his normal activities since there was no trouble between his camp and the Musicians Union of Ghana.

“As far as I am concerned, there is no issue between Madtime Music and MUSIGA since they have opted to call their event GMW Festival. So long as they do not explain GMW as Ghana Music Week, there is no legal tussle. They could even explain GMW as Grabbing Money Week. I therefore see no reason for a threat.” he said.

In a video footage/audio GhanaCelebrities.Com received from female outspoken presenter of Amansan TV also known as A TV, Sokoo Hemaa, the PRO of the Greater Accra Regional Police Service, Mr. Freeman Tettey revealed to her that Fennec Okyere did not report his (Fennec) alleged threatening calls to the police.

According to Mr. Tettey, if Fennec had reported earlier, that report could have served as a blueprint for the police service to rely on now to trace the unknown assailants who killed him.

In a separate interview with a close source to the management team of Madtime Entertainment, the fellow revealed to GhanaCelebrities.Com that Fennec reported to a police friend of his – about the alleged threatening calls but NEVER mad an official report to any police station.

Fennec Okyere was reported to have been shot dead on Thursday 13th March, 2014 by many online, radio and television media; but later, lawyer and politician, Ursula Owusu Ekuful, who is currently the spokesperson for the deceased family, came out to clear the air that Fennec was stabbed to death and not shot – as widely and wildly reported by the media earlier.

Meanwhile, GhanaCelebrities.Com gathers that the police are serious investigating into the cause of Fennec’s death. GhanaCelebrities.Com hopes and prays the police clamp down on the unknown assailants and bring them before the law for justice to take its cause. Until then…MOTWUM!!
