After having been on a break for 3 years, the prestigious MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) has returned and yesterday, this year’s nominations were announced in Johannesburg, South Africa…

The 2014 awards will be held at the Durban International Convention Centre in  South Africa on 7 June 2014.

After the nominations were revealed, Alex Okosi, the Senior Vice President & Managing Director of Viacom International Media Networks Africa said; “We congratulate all the nominees for the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards. This year, the MAMA offers a stunning platform for African artists, it also celebrates the young personalities, leaders and creatives who are making a positive impact on the continent.”

Voting for the MTV Africa Music Awards is open at www.mtvbase.com from 16 April 2014 until midnight on 4 June 2014.

  1. Congrats to all nominees.  From the list i hope Wizkid wins best male, best collaboration should be R2bees ft Wizkid, song of the year should be any of these, skelewu, personally or khona. Good luck to Sark and Efya. I will be mad if Chimamanda Adiche doesnt win personallity  of the year.

  2. Lol, sorry mate cos something tells me lupita has taken that one already even though am not one of her fans. I will rather be mad if Clarence Peters doesn’t win his category, he is the best music video director in Africa. Good luck to all Nigerian and Ghanian nominees
