Don’t You Agree There Ought To Be Transformation in Christianity?

Aside human behaviour which is intricate, one of the most complex things to understand is religion. Without doubt, I presume everybody concurs to this assertion. Dozens of people around the world have spent years trying to understand what this whole phenomenon is about. Some claim to have come to comprehend with it whilst others on the other hand believe there is no solution to their quest.

As humans, nobody can possibly trace and find the exact time religion itself began. In Christianity, all Christians can agree to the fact that religion commenced on earth right after God created the first human beings (Adam and Eve). Religion, as one online dictionary defines it is the belief in and worship of a super controlling power, especially a personal God or gods.

Jesus Christ instituted Christianity, thereby automatically making him the leader of the movement. Anybody that followed the teachings of Jesus therefore became a Christian. During his period, there used to be a uniform way of worship that all followers of Jesus followed. It isn’t recorded anywhere in the Bible that there were divisions among Jesus’ followers concerning doctrinal issues.

Right after his death, resurrection, and ascension into heaven, the center couldn’t hold as firm as it used to be so everything started to change. It was there that the issue of doctrines came to play. Whatever happened to the original laws and teachings Jesus set out for his followers to go by, nobody knows. Different sects with no valid aims have popped up, diverting their teachings from the original.

There has come to be countless Christianity sects that present different accounts to their followers; and this has made religion more complicated. How can a single Bible be interpreted differently by each and every sect within Christianity. Sometimes, some pastors’ make it seem Jesus has been dethroned as the essential figure of the Christian faith, claiming all praises and honour to themselves.

The central message of Christianity has been sidetracked from salvation. Prosperity is now the order of the day by some Christian sect leaders. Church halls have now become annexes of foreign embassies with pastors acting as ambassadors, guaranteeing visas.

It is quite interesting how different sects pop up each and every passing day hiding behind the curtains of preaching God’s word, but with money-making as their sole objective.

Christianity as it was, is never the same in this our 21stcentury. It has gone through a lot of changes. It is time we try and transform it to its original way, doing away with all sects that have emerged out of it.

What is the original way though? That is the challenge we are all facing now. Maybe someday when judgment is carried out (as proclaimed by Christians), all these sects will be pruned off leaving no single Christian behind (if the right sect isn’t found)…

The question remains; do you not also agree that Christianity should undergo some transformations and go back to its roots?

  1. Christianity was formed at the council of Nicea 325AD by edict of the emperor Constantine. People lived way before Adam and Eve. People should read and research more. In this age of information we should seek truth in order to understand what the early Christian teachings and bible stories mean’t rather than what what we’ve been told till this day!
