Ghanaians are slowly reaching their boiling points although I doubt the present government has any integrity left to recognize the true plight of Ghanaians.

The NDC has been largely termed as clueless , corrupt and insensitive but with the recent fuel shortage and the shameful movement of physical cash in a chartered flight from Ghana to Brazil to pay off players while the average Ghanaian stayed in Ghana struggling on the streets and going home to almost no water, light, amenities and a worsening economic climate, many Ghanaian youth led by local and some abroad have decided to show their displeasure in a way that cannot be missed by anybody.

They have chosen to take their displeasure to the doorstep of the president in a peaceful demonstration termed Occupy FlagStaff House #OccupyFlagstaffHouse.

Their intention is to be on the lawns of the presidency by 6 am on 1st July, 2014 to present letters of various unpleasant topics and various grievances to the presidency. Their aim is to make sure that the president understands that there is chaos in this country and the youth refuse to be continuously oppressed and subjected to terrible governance.

They have already notified the police of their intentions and are proceeding regardless of climate or opposition. They have called on all well meaning Ghanaians to join this sit out to show how serious we are as a nation.

Now in an interesting twist, the ruling party –NDC has announced a 1000 man march in support of the president John Dramani Mahama on the same republic day. This will be done by NDC activists who claim the president needs support to deliver and not hostility. So they intend to also show him their support.

Koku Mawuli, a leader of the group said “We are in difficult times I am not going to run away from that. [But] we have to be with him. He needs support to be able to deliver”.

GhanaCelebrities.Com will bring you further developments of these two opposing marches.
