According to Yahoo News, a passenger Malaysian airline plane which crashed in eastern Ukraine with 295 people on board is reported to have been shot down…

Russia’s Interfax reports that, the Malaysia Airlines plane was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur—and it was travelling at an altitude of 33,000 feet (10,000 metres) when it was shot down.

A senior Ukrainian officer, adviser to the Ukrainian interior ministry has stated that, the Boeing 777 was brought down by a Buk ground-to-air missile. All 280 passengers and 15 crew members who were on the plane are believed to have died, he added.

Alexander Borodai, the eastern Ukraine separatist leader is also reported to have said, the aircraft was shot down by Ukrainian government forces – a claim backed by a separatist from Krasnyi Luch, who told Reuters the rebels did not have weapons capable of shooting down a plane at such height.

It looks like Malaysian Airlines is having a bad operational year, as few months ago one of their planes disappeared into thin air, with all the passengers and crew on board.

May the soul of all on board rest in peace…
