Nigerian Actress-Ini Edo Confirms Her Marriage Has Crashed But She Did Not CHEAT on Her Husband + Why Celebrities Always Cite ‘Irreconcilable Differences’

Ini Edo

According to online rumour, Ini Edo’s marriage crashed because every little man in Lagos with money was running through her project—left, right and center. And no man should be expected to keep such a woman as a wife so her US-based husband ended their 5 years of marriage.

That is the rumour but at least, Ini Edo and the rumour agree on one thing; the marriage has ended and divorce has been filed.

According to Ini Edo, she filed for divorce because of the usual ‘irreconcilable differences’ which can mean everything under the sun.

If you’ve been wondering why most celebrities always cite ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for divorce, let me explain how things work in Family Law to you…

In Family Law, there is a single ground for divorce which is; the marriage has irretrievably broken down. However, irretrievable break down must be proved in one of the five different specific ways (in England and Wales under the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973); Adultery, Unreasonable Behaviour, Desertion, 2 Years of Separation with Consent or 5 Years of Separation.

When it comes to other jurisdictions like the USA, a spouse may get a no-fault divorce based on a breakdown of the marriage which is legally termed as “irreconcilable differences” or “incompatible of temperament”.

This means the couple can’t agree on fundamental issues involving the marriage or their family, and they never will agree.

So ‘irreconcilable differences’ actually may mean a lot but because a person is not required to state more when he or she goes for ‘irreconcilable differences’, a lot of people run for that so to hide the dirty things…

By going for “irreconcilable differences” or “incompatible of temperament”, this legally means the breakdown occurred through no fault of the spouses, without blame to one another—so it is a decent way of seeking divorce.

Mostly, when irreconcilable differences is cited, the Court looks for; conflict of personality, whether there is mutual concern for the emotional needs of each other, whether the marriage suffers from financial difficulties, long physical separation, difference of interests, resentment, distrust, constant bickering, irreversible antagonistic feelings and others…

So ini Edo’s “irreconcilable differences” may mean that there is distrust—and what causes distrust? It could also be that the marriage suffers from financial difficulties or any of the above and more…

Did she say THANK GOD? What for…?
