The Ghana Football Association has announced Israeli Avram Grant as the potential new Black Stars’ coach.

President Kwesi Nyantakyi made the announcement earlier today, with the Champions League finalist with Chelsea set to be handed the job subject to hashing out a financial package.

Kwesi Appiah was relieved of his duties midway through the still ongoing African qualifiers, and the interminable search seem to be almost over

Spain Juan Jimenez remains on standby in the event of an unforseen complication.

The FA Capo told a news conference that;

“They [committee] did very well to go through applications and shortlisted five”

“They interviewed them and two came top in terms of ranking”

“Our preference is Mr. Avram Grant and the next isIgnacio Jimimenz. We will be engaging Mr. Grant in further discussion and see if he can be appointed as the coach. If we fail to reach an agreement, it will fall on the second in line – Jimenez.”

The Black Star are still engaged in qualifiers for the tentatively set 2015 AFCON slated for Morocco.

Grant has handled Chelsea, West Ham, and his native Israel in his career.
