VIDEO: Are Ghanaian Women Still Regarded As Inferior? | This J.J Rawlings Video Will Shock You…

For many years, Ghanaian women have been regarded as inferior to men and I clearly remember the various campaigns that were put in place in the early 20s to kill this assumption—I am talking about the girl child education campaign together with the several others.

Today, a lot seem to have changed when it comes to women empowerment—as we can find several Ghanaian women in high ranking positions in our societies but if compared to men, these women are insignificant.

The inferiority notion attached to Ghanaian women has not just come to live with the men, our institutions have also bought into this—and the above clearly illustrates the way some of our men and existing institutions regard women.

It’s good to know that we have people like Jerry John Rawlings who may not be in support of the notion, that women are somewhat inferior to men—even when it comes to just holding a microphone for an Ex-President to speak, a man is considered better…

The circumstance surrounding the video is not out there but it is obvious that, there was an attempt by whoever was in charge (likely a man) to substitute the woman who was doing her job with a man. But Rawlings did not support this scheme which clearly brings to light how we regard women in our communities…
