Ghana Black Stars Did Excellent, NO BAD TALKS…

As I watched the game between Ghana and Ivory Coast, I noticed the black stars did pretty awesome and should not be blamed for losing the cup to their opponent. Both sides were good, and they gave their all, both sides had a couple of chances which they could not convert to goals, and in the end, they had to resort to penalties to decide the winner of both sides.

However, I noticed some mistakes. I don’t know why the strikers did not play first before the defenders, and lastly, the goalkeeper, or perhaps they were all scared of the blames. Another one was when opponent managed to miss two penalties in a roll, that was the perfect timing and opportunity for the Ghana black stars to emerge winners but they followed suit and also missed two goals which got a little messy resulting in the goalkeepers having to play to decide the game.

Therefore, I do not like the fact that some people would blame the goalkeeper for the slightest mistake because he did not make any. Yes it is true that he could not make a save and missed his shot, but even the players who were supposed to score missed, so why should the goalkeeper whose job is to just catch the ball be blamed for not being able to score?

Except those two mistakes and arguments that I had within, I think the Black Stars of Ghana had done a tremendous job and should be welcomed warmly with a standing ovation proudly.

And again, you should have realized that the coach did a great job, considering how he was able to manage the guys in a very short time, although, he may have made a couple of bad decisions but that is part of the game, if one does not err, the other would. So I think the coach should be highly recognized. You should have known also that, almost all or most of the Black Stars receive several individual awards such as; Andre Dede Ayew receiving most goals, Atsu receiving best goal and some other goodies.

To be honest the guys played their hearts out and should be acknowledged. Some people are already connecting the loss to the incumbent president. There is no such thing as because we have this as our president, we loss, football brings people together but not to separate. We should appreciate whatever result we get despite our differences.

  1. If we cannot blame the players for loosing the match then who do we blame?…the coach?….The teacher can teach you the best way possible but if you the student don’t do your part you will fail. What is the point of playing the best game in the world only to loose at the time it matters most. At the end of the day what matters most is who won the match…everyone else lost it….early losers o late losers o…a loser is a loser. Its like they’ve decided 2nd place is their last stop….ghanaians as usual will understand.

    • I understand what you are saying, but they did a great job but just could not make it at the penalties, they played from the bottom of their hearts I think, the coach did great and therefore, nobody should be blamed. We just have to congratulate the boys.

      • The team which does the great job is the one who wins the cup…in most cases that is…I believe it’s never how you begin but rather how you end that matters most…I for one can no longer condone this promise and fail way they play…I love Ghana and I love my blackstars but we need to call a spade a spade…they let us down when it mattered most….and this is not the first time. …how about them bringing the cup home for a change…I’m tired of wasting my support…it’s not like I get anything substantial from it….bring a cup home and no one will have to tell us how repentant you are or how well you played…it will out there for all to see.

  2. The players did well. In penalty shot outs its difficult to know the winner. Besides i find it weird that Ghanaians who initially said they have lost interest in their national team after the world cup to expect much from this guys. Ghana did well from start to finish. though not without some lapses. Chris i rem an article you wrote here when Ghana lost the first match and the nonchalant attitude by their fans who were even wishing them to be removed from the competition. now they made their way to the finals despite lack of support and you guys want the trophy so badly. Well like i told my husband it young team i see them doing much better in 2017. Well i don talk my own #justaconcernedGhanianwife#
