update

According to reports coming in from Nigeria—and from one of Nigeria’s leading newspapers-ThisDAY, All Progressive Congress (APC)’s Muhammadu Buhari has won Nigeria’s 2015 election.

The newspaper reported on its website that “with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announcing collated  results for the presidential election from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, and having analysed the state and local government areas’ results in the possession of THISDAY reporters from around the country, The Board of Editors of THISDAY calls this presidential elections in favour of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Major-General Muhammadu Buhari.”

Adding that “THISDAY Newspapers can comfortably project that Buhari has won the 2015 presidential election.”

Since only the Independent National Electoral Commission is mandated under Nigeria’s laws to announce electoral winners and results, Nigerians are still on the wait for a proper confirmation.

  1. What is it with Africans that make them forget their history. This Buhari guy was a military dictator until he was removed by another military man. A habitual coup plotter, he’s been involved in coups since Nigeria gained it’s independence. He’s got a bad record of killing and detaining his opponents. How in the hell did he get elected? What sort of monsters decided that this monster is better? Well Nigerians deserve what they get. Personally I hope he gets remove by a coup like he did to others. It seems in Africa you can be a murderer many times over and will be elected into higher office but if you happened to be gay, you are doomed. What an insane continent!

    • What about the founding fathers of America who hold slaves ?

What about Sarkozy who allowed french troops to occupy Ivory Coast, despite the fact that Gbagbo was democratically elected?

      • What’s your point? Do you have a point? Is this guy the best the Nigerians can come up with? His record of respecting democratically elected leaders is poor. What has the founding fathers got to do with this?

    • That is the problem with Africans, we never learn, and the very people being oppressed would come up with all kinds excuses to justify being oppressed. Who in their right minds will vote back into power someone who as a military dictator run down the country, not to talk of the many extra judicial killing of innocent people. This is an insane continent indeed…..
