The 20 times Ghanaian league champions are back in Africa after so many years’ hiatus and are really making waves with some scintillating displays.
A 3-2 win in Senegal over Olympique de Ngor sees the side qualify for the penultimate stage of qualifying, setting up a huge clash with Djoliba of Mali.
After a 2-1 first leg win, Hearts welcomed back Owusu Bempah and Sulama Abdoulaye from international duty, both key players. The attack was led by the prolific Gilbert Fiamenyo and Togolese international Foovi Aguidi
The tightly contested affair saw the Senegalese capturing an early lead, before Eric Kumi levelled for Hearts. Robin Gnagne and Paul Acquah hit the other goals, with an additional goal for Ngor doing little to stem the tide.
Hearts thus make the next round, eager to make it to the much anticipated ‘money zone’. They haven’t been to that stage in any CAF competition in a while, so it’s good to see them back in Africa and performing excellently to boot.
The only problem now is how to translate this form to the local league, but one thing at a time for Coach Herbert Addo. On Sunday, it’ll be Kotoko’s turn to represent Ghana when they take on Algeria’s El Eulma.
Phobia.. Never say die until da bones are rotten. Phobia… Obiaa se 3y3.
