Powerful Earthquake Hits Nepal Killing Over 2000 People: Others Still Trapped As Rescue Efforts Continue

Natural disaster such as these are inevitable in many places, but it doesn’t still stop you from experiencing the shock such mass loss of human life brings about.

Avalanches off the side of Mount Everest killed 17 people, before powerful aftershocks rippled through Nepal, causing massive loss of life.

According to the BBC, the earthquake, which recorded a magnitude of 7.8, has been followed by lesser magnitude aftershocks that have all contributed to the massive carnage

The effects were felt in Nepal, India, Bangladesh, and parts of Tibet. The occurrence has left whole buildings were flattened, including a four storey building near the residence of the Nepalese prime minister.

Rescue efforts has commenced, but several challenges hamper the effort as people remain trapped in rubble, with many more dying down there.

There has been a massive response, with international relief bodies making moves to get in the region.

  1. this earthquake is really serious. i am Ghanaian I live in Gurgaon, northern part of india closer to Delhi and I felt the tremble from my home. All the buildings were shaking vigorously. I pray for all those in Nepal, this is such a difficult time for them.
