You would think at this point people would have wised up to the machinations of some of these so-called men of God. But we love refusing to think, especially when religion is involved.

A Lagos man is in dire financial straits after his pastor made away with N10m he gave to him for prayers. The man went for a bank loan to start a business but through some very elaborate scheming his pastor was able to swindle him out of it.

PM News reports that Lagos police have declared Timothy Gabriel, a preacher from Lagos, a wanted man. He is wanted for allegedly swindling one of his church members out of N10m.

The member is said to have told his pastor that he intended to go for a bank loan for some business deals. The pastor prayed for him to be successful in getting the loan, and he managed to get it.

After informing the pastor he had been given the loan, the pastor told him the money was blood money, that if used for business would be unsuccessful. The only remedy was to bring it to the pastor for some three days prayers to be offered over the money for it to be cleansed.

Unsurprisingly, our dummy of a victim took the money to the pastor and went home to relax for three days.

When he went back to claim his money after three days, the pastor had bolted and was nowhere to be found. The bemused businessman went to lodge a complaint with police.

I wonder why he did that. On form he should have just stayed home and prayed to God, since his faith has worked out so well for him so far.

We really have to revaluate the crap we’re willing to take from someone, just because they claim they have some anointing.
