Ever since processes began for choosing parliamentary candidates for the next election the NPP have been running from crisis to crisis.

For the main party people are looking to come and change things there are not painting a rosy picture at all.

The Upper East Regional chairman of the party, Adams Mahama, is reportedly in hospital this morning after being attacked with acid by other members of his party.

According to myjoyonline:

“The Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party Adams Mahama is fighting for his life in the hospital following an acid attack on him.

Two assailants stopped his car whilst he was about entering his house midnight on Wednesday and poured the corrosive substance on his face and entire body.

Mr. Adams’ aide Zakaria Osman confirmed the attack to Joy News’ regional correspondent Albert Sore. He said his boss is in critical condition, adding that “his whole body is burnt”.

Public Relations Officer of the Upper East Regional Police ASP Thomas Agbanyo who also confirmed the incident to Joy News’ Beatrice Adu said one of the assailants has been arrested.

“The stench of the acid was just so much that when we opened the Pick-Up he was driving in all the seats were torn by the acid. He was showered with the acid, from the head through the face to the body and all parts,” he said”

For people in the same party to show this level of callousness to each other, you have to wonder what they can do to their ‘opponents’. For a political dispute to devolve into such wanton brutality is very unfortunate for a nation with a supposed burgeoning democracy.

This is a criminal matter and hopefully the police grab whoever was behind this brutality
