Not that A Smart CHICK | Yvonne Nelson Failed Her Senior Secondary School Exams TWICE

Yvonne Nelson
Yvonne Nelson

‘Examination is not the best way to asses a student’—I remember arguing for the motion during my Adisadel College days. But all around the world, it’s being used as the ‘test of smartness’ and we’ve all accepted it…

Therefore, based on the acceptable convention, it wouldn’t be cruel to say that Yvonne Nelson is not that smart—as she failed the then Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination twice.

I am not being mean but if you gain a spot at Aggrey Memorial Secondary School and you have to write the same examination with students from Wesley Girls, HolyChild School, Adisadel College, Mfansipim School and the others, it’s highly probably that you are going to fail unless you are a very smart kid.

Perhaps, this explains why most of us studied so hard those days to pass our BECE so to get into the top first class schools—guaranteeing an easy SSSCE pass.

In a recent interview, Yvonne Nelson spoke about her come back spirit—stating that, she failed her SSSCE and even failed the following Nov-Dec examination too.

In fact, she had to re-write the examination the following year to pass, with which she got admission into Central University. Even this, GhanaCelebrities.Com  is told it was a borderline pass—pretty obvious.

Though Yvonne Nelson is not the smartest chick in the room, she has done pretty well for herself—her human aggression for success works better than her ability to understand E=MC2.

This is the reason why if you ever meet Yvonne Nelson, you shouldn’t try to talk to her about philosophy or cosmology; just stick to simple subjects like Louis Vuitton, Makeup, Nail Polish, Instagram photo editing techniques and if you decide to push it a little far, drop it at first class travel experiences…

Then you will have a brilliant conversation!

    • That’s the power of a good school. It gives you the foundation to challenge conventions and ask question. Adisco doesn’t train you to be sheeple. The first person that taught me how to be critical of all religions was also an Anglican priest. He was also the school chaplain. Some of the world atheists or agnostics had parochial education. In fact the early atheists were men of the church. Because in order to arrive at the decision you need to know the facts. That’s why most atheists and agnostics have a very deep and detail knowledge of the scripture. Even better than the Christians. You need to know the bible well in order to get the various contradictions and errors that makes it rubbish and untrustworthy. So in a sense the more you read bible the less of a believer you become. And I mean reading critically not selecting passages and passing it around like the truth. One only has to read Isaiah about the ” he will be called Emmanuel ” story to realise the bible is nonsense. Those who cannot read or haven’t read it and prefer to be spoon fed will claim it was the prediction of Jesus’ birth. Which if you the read the story is completely bollocks. Because the word “virgin” was a mistake the Septuagint made. Instead of a young lady(almo) they chose parthenos. And early Christians eat it up. Modern day Christians just accepted it as the truth. So the mistake is now one of the pillars of modern day Christian belief. And most will not question it. See how there is a need fr atheist and agnostics? If anything it will force the Christians to know the truth of the origins of their bible. PS. This is not Chris but another santaclausian. And since you asked, I had to represent my alma mater.

    • Yes—so that people like you will come and read me and comment! Who gets the smart watch, the one doing the writing or the one reading?

And atheism? The most intelligent people in the world don’t believe in God—check it! Or let me state it right for you; research for over 100 years have shown that the more intelligent a person is, the less likely he/she is to believe in God.

I am sure you are not within that bracket so you don’t even know about this. But Google can help you so just use it.

      • I like when n*ggers try to be condescending about the sec school they attended. The glory days of Motown, Gey Hey and others have been over my guy, what rock have u been living under… Check the stats about Adisco and see if they have been even in the top 15 sec schools and then we can talk.

Let me school you for a second homeboy, book knowledge is not the definition of true intelligence, it’s just one aspect. For instance : Lebron James or say Asamoah Gyan are basketball or soccer geniuses, just not in the classroom. Therefore Ole girl is “entertainer smart” but not in academics

Thus, this piece you have up top is not only a witch hunt which holds no water but also nonsensical “Mr. Ajasco” I mean Adisco… Good thing I only come on this website when I’m taking a sh*t because it helps me empty my bowls better. Some of the things you write is kinda like what comes out my a$$….. Oh and I attended Apam Sec School but studying Corporate Law in Cornell (Try Googling it). A type of University most of the students in the so called top schools in Ghana can only dream about.

        • For someone who wants respect for attending a school that is ranked 15th you should learn to contextualize. Adisadel college of old is not the same as the new sss .adisadel. Much like achimota of old is not the present sss achimota. Only after the education system in Ghana hit the rocks did all these prominent schools lost their prestige. The problem was not the schools but the calibre of students attending these schools. When parents started buying results for their kids that is when the trouble started. The calibre of teachers also account for the low quality in the formerly prestigious schools. When I was in Ghana Apam sec school was class c or d secondary school. Didn’t even travel on the same circles with adisadel or mfantsipim. A further proof that the education you got was substandard is why you called your “bowels” “bowls”. Translation: Even attending cornel hasn’t improved your education. A corporate lawyer who can’t tell the difference between bowel and bowl is going to be in serious trouble when the issue at stake is emptying the bowl or emptying one’s bowels. But hey George bush the man that coined “misunderestimate” is a Harvard and Yale grad. So no surprises there.

          Reply
          • Lol are you done with your sheepish argument? Because all i see is you trying to magnify a minute issue which doesn’t have to do with anything..One of the barriers of technology is it’s ability to make a mistake, clearly you intend to milk the simple typo “bowl” instead of “bowel” dry.. So yes there was an absence of a letter which is way different than George Bushs’ coinage of a new term. Oh and another thing, unlike G. B. I earned my admission and scholarship on merit. But hey that’s all your little mind saw in my paragraph instead of looking at the big picture and I don’t blame you. If my memory serves me right, my comment was about the unnecessary assassination of character of a young hardworking woman.

Now pay attention retard and let me school you a bit because I think I am about to be done “at the John” (It means I’m taking a sh*t) .. You made my point for me about parents buying admissions into these so called “top schools” in Gh. This has been very rampant in the past 2 decades. Therefore it’s not the educational system neither is it the caliber of teachers with a decline in quality, it’s just the students, This explains why many of them don’t even make it to the public Universities.

Thus unless you have come overseas and lived in a concrete jungle like I have and got an admission WITH MERIT to an Ivy, please shut your trap.Because your “top” Ghanian education compared to mine is like comparing a Kia to a Rolls Royce. Translation …. you are not on my level. And that is why I always laugh at people who brag about their “quality” education in a third world country. I am glad you did yourself a favor by not stating the type of education you received because chances are it’s not even a “substandard one”.

          • First of all I very much doubt that you got your admission on merit. You can try to convince you and your low brow relations that but don’t try to sell that sh*t to me. Unless the standards at Cornell has dropped that they’ll admit someone who can’t tell the difference between a bowl or bowel. You may be lying at attending Cornell or got a George bush admission. Affirmative action admission perhaps? Did Cornell need semi retarded Africans to meet their quota? That may be also be a valid explanation.
Look asshole, you on your best day are Ghanaian. Which means gluten eating knuckle dragger with nothing but space between your ears. It also means that you cannot evolve past the “apam sec school” state of mind regardless how many Ivy League schools you attend. The squirrels and groundhogs on the property of Cornell haven’t become rockets scientist by virtue of being on campus of Cornell. Neither have the dogs. So what makes you any different. Even if it were true that you are actually attending Cornell nothing enlightening will come out of you. You will still be a Ghanaian at the end of your education. As proven by your choice of cars in your posting. Rolls Royce is not the highest quality or priced car out there. KIA is not the lowest value car out there. But that was as far as your mind could go. Why because you have apam sec education. So let me broaden your apamsec scope. There are cars more expensive than a Rolls Royce. There are also cars lower than KIA on the spectrum. But being Ghanaian and with apamsec education that’s all you could come up with.
I also noticed your inabiity to grasp what you are comparing. You cannot brush away the substandard education you had just because you now attend Cornell. Your foundation is still crap. Which means even after Cornell you will be crap. Exactly like George bush.
Bottom line you can’t school yourself let alone a god like me. Have some humility when you are addressing your better. Someone who is actually built a corporation and who has a devil chance of becoming a corporate lawyer. Someone who knows the difference between bowls and bowels.
By the way experimental pigs at MIT or Harvard don’t go on to become einsteins or newtons. They still remain as pigs. Just like you will still remain a low brow knuckle dragging Ghanaian with apamsec view of the world. Now Stfu. How is that for schooling?

      • Was this research conducted by an atheist by any chance?

Do your research, there are a many top intellectuals, professors and scientists to support or have changed their views to support God’s existence. Many of those are being silenced by the organisations they work for or represent.

Belief or no-believe in God is not an indication of intelligence. Your assertion that “The most intelligent people in the world don’t believe in God” is pure and utter nosecone.

  4. This is the dumbest article I have read on here so far. Why does everything you guys write about have to be so negative. If there is someone on here who is struggling academically is this the type of message you want them to see? Making them feel worse about themselves? This is certainly unacceptable. Write about things that can encourage people and make them feel they have a place in life even if they are not excelling academically. I understand you feel like you have to write something that would attract attention and have people coming for more, but this is not the way to go about it. If this article was positive, it would have rather attracted more views. So the next time you feel you are so “smart”, just know you are just a very dumb and shallow minded individual who thinks too highly of himself.

  5. Chris, seriously what is your point?Do you have something against her personally?from the tone of the article you seem to have something against her. Was it really necessary to say what you can and can’t talk to her about? Ok she isn’t the smartest person. There are alot of people who’ve failed in a lot of things and managed to be very successful in life. Come on brah.Look i like how you use this platform to check the celebrities who think they are larger than life, good on you for that, but I think this is a low blow. Was not necessary.Just my humble opinion

  6. GC it doesn’t matter even if she failed a billion times. She’s worked really hard to be where she is now. Your hatred for this lady is too ugly. People pass straight up with A*, go to the best Universities yet they end up being ashawo and fraudsters to survive. Enough of this nonsense please. Give her a break for once. Tell yourself and those jealousy Ghanaian so called celebrities to make way for YN. It’s her moment now, no one can touch or stop her from achieving her dreams. Masa book mu nyansa 3ne passing your exams with A* straight up doesn’t guarantee a successful future wai. Nonfa nkoa na aka wo.

  8. I find it difficult to comprehend the fact that very informed ,initiated and intelligent persons of your calibre would activate such a pedestrian debate about “so called grade A schools ” and their impact on students… Of course the school that one attends influences to a large extent the person’s academic output, but mates, its not always the case, as I have personally encountered those who had the privilege to attend some of the best preparatory and secondary schools in this country but have ended up as very useless people both to their families and to society at large…. I would’ve mentioned names and given direct examples of such persons but to my better -judgement, this is a public platform and since I have not personally sought the consent of the individuals in question, guess it’s only proper to leave their names out for now…

All over the world, history tells us that many of the world’s greatest/successful men were not necessarily produced by the academia …. There are countless examples… Bill gates is a classical one, and I don’t seek to belabor the point by recounting the story of bill gates, it is public knowledge that he dropped out of college to follow his passion etc…Therefore one can’t make the claim that simply because you don’t make the passes in school you therefore can’t turn your life into something really worthwhile and admirable …

The recent floods and dumsor coupled with a host of other pertinent national issues, seriously exposes the flaws and bottlenecks of the Ghanian educational system… Our system of assessing students is pretty mundane, dysfunctional and not tailored towards producing students with real practical abilities… To provide real solutions to the myriad of problems we’re faced with as a country…

We train so many people in the humanities, so we have a country of grate orators and writers who get nothing really done in real sense.

Even more worrisome is the current trend where immediately after obtaining a bachelors degree, one & all venture into law…studying law has become so fashionable , u find very little amount of our university graduates offering courses in the oil and gas sector. engineering , chemistry, physics, medicine etc… Now law has become the most attractive to these lazy students of administration/humanities… Look here my friends; without technical know how and scientific proficiency this beautiful nation of ours will get no where … We need to empower our populace with the requisite practical abilities and Focus more on developing the technical capacity of our students…to enable them move our ailing economy from an import based one to a manufacturing based one such that real growth can be achieved!

Ask the best law student to manufacture a simple matches stick … Oh all hell will break loose…they can’t manufacture a battery not even torchlight we simply can’t fix anything! A typical Ghanian relies on imports for their livelihood …even our butt-holes are wiped with imported tissue ..Yet So much English is being spoken/written with par excellence but in the end dumsor continues to reign and the floods will continue to kill us … While people who should help us with veritable solutions sit aloof and argue about which school who attended and what their passes were… It’s such a great shame!

For your information I attended fankyinibra primary/ jss.. I have no classmates in adisadel nor achimota..I thus offer my head on the chopping board for free…chop as much as you possibly can …cheers

  9. You know, I was going to go all the way in on you by taking apart your vacuous argument which a squirrel on campus would have done a better job than your third world high school thought process could have ever imagined, but I’ll make it brief.
The fact that you could not fathom the essence between a R.R and a KIA let’s me know that I am dealing with a FULL FLEDGED adisadel MOOK. I used R.R because it exhibits elegance, wealth, power, respect & authority not because of how much it costs you dumb f@ck.
Just like myself, Yvonne Nelson and the rest who attended B class schools, we have proven time and time again that buffoons like yourself who will forever be stuck on stupid and hold close to your chest like a card player the fallacy you attained a top notch education achieved in reality has been lagging behind for decades now. I really don’t blame you because I would be in disbelief, flabbergasted and even intimidated by me too for having a world class education if I was in your shoes. Obviously, you ended up in a private unv. in Ghana because you couldn’t make to the public ones or even if you did, there is no way we can have a conversation about anything because
“By the way experimental pigs at MIT or Harvard don’t go on to become einsteins or newtons”… Oh actually they do in their own way dummy, and the list goes on and on. The first dog that was tested out in space or the sheep used in the first hip replacement or even the rats in the 1930’s that helped in the breakthrough of anesthetics are still remembered by history.

Listen to me, goblin. You’re stupid, let’s accept that and move on. The fact that you can’t differentiate between a typo and a grammatical error makes it clear that even though you tried so hard to use vague words in your description by going through the lexicon all day, its obvious that you are very jealous of me lol and still can’t believe my accomplishments haha… a typical Ghanaian trait indeed, and still don’t have the guts to name the tertiary school you attended, what a joke !! For the record, you can NEVER in this life and the other come even close to being in the same class as me, let alone being better

This is a response to the mediocre response of a writing you deem a reply and the kind of sophisticated language
for which your beloved saturated third world ancillary high school taught you .. lost cause lost cause lost cause stupid stupid
stupid stupid stupid crap….Now GTFOHWTBS; barbaric idiot
