Samia Nkrumah To Run For President

Another scion of the Nkrumah family is taking steps towards running for the highest office of the land.

Samia Yaaba Nkrumah, daughter of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, has declared an intention to run for President of Ghana.

Samia becomes the second Nkrumah to make her intentions to run for President known, after Onsy Nkrumah made the same declaration a while ago.

The Convention People’s Party and The People’s National Convention are currently discussing a merger to present a united Nkrumaist front against the top two parties in the country. Samia’s plan is to lead the United Party in the next election.

“The momentum of the unity talks between the CPP and the PNC has inspired me to contest for the position of the flag bearer of the united party.” She said, at the Ashanti Regional elections of party executives.

Samia has been a Member of Parliament and the National Chairperson on the CPP ticket, so flag bearer seems the next logical hurdle to conquer.
