Asamoah Gyan Is The King Of Getting Into The News Every Year: For All The WRONG Reasons

February 2012

Gyan announced his retirement from international football after he missed another crucial penalty during the 2012 African Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Once again Gyan found himself in the news for all the wrong reasons, and Ghanaians were far from happy with him. Unable to bear the insults any longer, Gyan decided to retire.

He came back later that year, and was then named substantive captain for the team. But that was just another year with Gyan making headlines.

November 2012

This one was sad news for Gyan, but still one that got Ghanaians talking once again. Gyan’s mum was driving when she run her vehicle into a wall.

Of course, the sadness of the incident did not deter some Ghanaians, and people still came out with their conspiracy theories of what might have led to Madam Cecila Amoako’s death.

Looks like there is no winning for Gyan when it comes to the Ghanaian public.

July 2014

This was the big one, the disappearance of hiplife artiste Castro with Janet Bandu in Ada. It sparked off a media frenzy that lasted for months as everyone tried to dissect the case.

There were many competing theories for the cause of the disappearance of the duo, but once again Asamoah Gyan found himself smack in the middle of another controversy. People surmised that the filthy rich Ghana captain must have used his friend and his companion for some rituals.

It got so bad Asamoah Gyan had to issue a formal statement to deny those rumours.

June 2015

The latest saga which Gyan is embroiled in is the case of Sarah Kwabla, who claims he chopped her down and is demanding for some big bucks. She has also amended her earlier claim, adding rape and sodomy to her allegations against Baby Jet.

Gyan has admitted having seks with the girl, but denies she’s pregnant with his child. It’s obviously an attempt to milk some cash from Gyan, who recently bought a mansion in the country. How much do you bet the news of that purchase piqued Sarah Kwabla’s interest much more than it did for the average Ghanaian?

Considering all these, is it any wonder someone claimed he was an ‘Angel of Death’ in the midst of the Castro saga last year? This even excludes other alleged involvement of his in some shady situations, but when all these stories keep circulating about one person it sums up to something of a pattern.

What did we miss? Tell us about other Asamoah Gyan scandals. No question though, that he’s the biggest celeb to always get into trouble with the Ghanaian public.
