Asamoah Gyan Is The King Of Getting Into The News Every Year: For All The WRONG Reasons

Asamoah Gyan

We thought we were going to finally have a year free of any Asamoah Gyan drama, until out of nowhere Sarah Kwabla popped up and all hell broke loose.

Sarah Kwabla claims Gyan had seks with her, and that got her pregnant. She further claimed that if he does not pay up, she would release a video of their secret lovemaking.

With this news coming almost a year to the disappearance of Castro, it has raised questions about Gyan’s unique ability to get in the news every year for the wrong reasons. Makes people wonder what about him keeps attracting all these controversies.

What is not surprising is that Asamoah Gyan is involved in another scandal; he’s arguably the biggest Ghanaian celebrity whose relationship with the public is quite fractious. It’s a love-hate relationship that is difficult to define, which means that whenever a story of his comes out it garners way more public interest than it would when involving someone else.

It also brings out way too many theories about his role in all these scandals.

Thus from Castro’s disappearance, to breaking Ghanaians hearts, to his own heartbreak after losing his mum, here’s a rundown of Asamoah Gyan’s biggest brushes with the Ghanaian public in recent times…

July 2010

Asamoah Gyan was the villain of Ghana’s agonising exit from the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, missing a crucial, last minute penalty after Luiz Suarez had handled on the goal line.

Ghana went on to lose on penalties, and that was the zenith of Ghanaian hate towards Baby Jet. The situation was so heartbreaking, and majority of the blame was placed squarely on Gyan’s young shoulders. He dominated headlines like he had never done before or since.
