It’s Independence Day in America so there isn’t a time more fitting for an independence themed album.

Lil Wayne is fighting for independence from the clutches of the imperial Cash Money Empire, and in lieu of being unable to release The Carter V, Weezy is gifting his fans with the ‘Free Weezy’ project.

Not just that, the release is exclusively on Tidal, the streaming service bought by Jay_Z and run almost entirely by artists.

‘Free Weezy’ is Lil Wayne’s second project as the legal battle for his future holds up the C5, following January’s ‘Sorry for the Wait 2’.

Guest acts on ‘Free Weezy’ includes Young Jeezy, Wiz Khalifa, and Cory Gunz.
