Industrial And Commercial Workers Union Protesting Harsh Economic Conditions

The country has become such a massive cauldron of hardships and corruption it’s a surprise we do not see such actions every day.

Mostly it manifests in strike actions, but today a trade organisation have taken to the streets of Tema. The Industrial and Commercial workers Union (ICU) are protesting the high cost of living in the country under the theme “The state of the economy and its effects on Ghanaian workers.”

The workers are holding aloft some interesting placards, including “Why have we the people become a nation ofsheep?”, “System Failure: Mahama’s government reboot now”, “Call on ICU Ghana, it is your right” and “Ebolaic economic policies killing workers.”

According to them,  government has been exploiting Ghanaians through the increases in the prices of petroleum products and increases in utility tariffs, hence their decision to demonstrate.
