A comment passed by Mavin records boss, Michael Collins aka Don Jazzy, some weeks ago, pricked my mind for this piece because I seldom see or hear showbiz players speak on or preach on morality.
The world of showbiz is perhaps, the only discipline in this world where morality is always downplayed – like some say, in showbiz anything goes. We even gladly pass in justification that ‘sex sells’ each time concerns on n*dity are raised (by the general public) in the world of showbiz.
Don Jazzy, who was in relaxation mood in Atlanta, United States of America, disclosed that having an intimate affair before marriage is a sin.
Don Jazzy pointed to his fans that having an affair before marriage were against the will of God. “Slizing before marriage is a sin” Don Jazzy said. I must admit I was taken aback by Don Jazzy’s remarks but it also brought to my attention, the list of Ghanaian celebrities who got pregnant or gave birth out of wedlock and to ask if it’s a big deal at all for a celebrity to do so.
Actress Juliet Ibrahim, who got married to Kwadwo Sarfo Jnr, son of Ghana’s creative gem, Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo of Great Kosa, was alleged to have married Sarfo Jnr based on the grounds that, she got pregnant in the course of their courtship.
True to the allegations, she gave birth less than 9 months after she got married.
