Roddy Piper has died at the age of 61. The wrestling star died on Friday in Hollywood of a cardiac arrest.

He was one of the biggest stars in wrestling in the 1980s, and was inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.

Roddy’s rep told TMZ; “I am devastated at this news. Rod was a good friend as well as a client and one of the most generous, sincere and authentic people I have ever known. This is a true loss to us all.”

“Our family is saddened by the sudden passing of our father and beloved husband, Roderick Toombs aka Rowdy Roddy Piper,” a family member said.

Reports emerged wayback in November 2006, that Piper had Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Years later, he claimed he was entirely cancer-free.
