It’s not particularly the norm to challenge a sitting president, and the NDC had been hoping for no challenger; but apparently this George Boateng has other ideas.

The 45 year old, NDC Oyarifa Youth Organiser, has picked his nomination forms to contest the presidential primaries against John Mahama on November 7.

Interestingly, Boateng was once an aide to former first lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, who herself challenged the incumbent President John Mills.

He’s likely to take much the same beating as she did, but at least they’re both anti-establishment.
