The Black Stars were in action earlier today in an international friendly in Brazzaville to commemorate the unveiling of the new 60,000 seater Kintele Stadium.
But despite a festive occasion for the Congolese, the Black Stars were in bullish mood and came out 3-2 winners with Jordan Ayew grabbing a very late goal.
Ghana took an early lead through Richmond Boakye-Yiadom, doubling it after Congo put through their own net.
However, after the break, the Congolese, managed by former Ghana manager Claude Le Roy, pulled level with two quick fire goals.
As the game semed destined for a stalemate however, Jordan Ayew grabbed the winner, getting on the end of an incisive Afriyie Acquah pass to smash home.
The Black Stars would take on Rwanda on Saturday in the second group stage game for the 2017 African Cup qualifiers.
