Arrival Of Emergency Power Barges Delayed Again

power-ship-465x330

It was supposed to be April, then August, then September, and now only God knows when these supposedly miraculous emergency power barges would arrive.

The dumsor that at this point we’ve all grown accustomed to is set to creep on for just a while longer. Apparently, civil works at the port has not been carried out to enable the barges to be able arrive. Those works are supposed to last for three and a half months and you have to wonder why they have not even started.

Taking another tack, the African Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) also claims the $100m needed to be made into an escrow account for the barges to leave Turkey has not been made by the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation. If not made, KAR Power is not moving the barges from Turkey.

Either way, I do not foresee us seeing those barges anytime this year, nor should you.
