Seeking inspiration for his next album, and inspired by a similar project by Damon Albarn, Ed Sheeran would visit parts of the continent to get material for a new album.

The information was revealed by a close associate of the singer, and reported by UK tabloid The Sun.

Sheeran, whose last album ‘X’ took the world by storm, is looking for a totally new style of music to give his fans, and the trip would be a good way to do that.

The source says Sheeran is looking to “include sounds and influences from around the world, particularly Africa” in the new album.

This move was reportedly inspired by ‘Blur and Gorillaz’ frontman Damon Albarn, whose African Express has been blending foreign and African music for close to a decade now.

Sheeran was impressed, got in touch with Albarn, who give him some good advice on that front.

No word yet on when Ed Sheeran would land in Ghana for this safari.
