The nominees for Best African Act at this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards were announced this morning and the Ghanaian nomination, Stonebwoy, missed out.

With voting done through twitter to select the nominees, the four slots went to Nigerian and South African acts. Yemi Alade, Davido, South African rapper AKA, and Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania picked up the nominations.

There’s still a space for one wildcard nomination, and Stonebwoy is eligible to be voted to join the list. Voting for the wildcard continues until 14th September.

One can vote for by hashtagging #nominatestonebwoy #bestafricanact #mtvema on social media

Other artistes fighting for the wildcard slots are Wizkid, KO, Cassper Nyovest, and DJ Arafat.
