Power Outages Disrupts Nigerian Senate Probe Into The Power Sector

Nigerian Senate

When the power bosses speak, everybody must listen, even the senators.

Nigeria’s Senate was on Tuesday carrying out a serious probe into allocation of funds into the power sector over the last three administrations when, what do you know? Power was shut off.

It was a slap in the face of the legislators who had convened to probe that very sector.

Within the space of four hours, power went off about eight times. The senators bravely tried to shoulder on but had to call it quits at a point as the inability to use the microphones made the proceedings exceedingly difficult.

Some members of the committee said they strongly suspect an act of sabotage.

Committee Chairman Senator Abubakar Kyari told reporters that the power outage would be investigated.

“We will investigate the incident. We will find out whether it was an act of sabotage.”

Looks like it’s not only ECG who cause unending havoc.
