Odoi Mensah is currently seeking for the support of $15,000 to undergo a treatment in China.

The former president of the Ghana Actors Guild was diagnosed with kidney disease some years ago.

According to Myjoyonline reports, Nii Odoi is unable to pay his medical bills at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital due the high cost of his dialysis treatment plan—and has a GHC17, 000 debt to cover.

“At the moment, I’m looking for a very big support to travel out of the country for some treatment. I’m supposed to go to China to a kidney hospital,” for treatment there.

“It’s all money issue and if people will support I will be grateful.”

Nii Odoi told the website that; “the hospital in China is asking for $10,000 for the treatment while other expenses needed for the treatment is $5,000.

“Within three months, I will come back by the grace of God; they have promised that things will be well.”

According to him, “the cost of treatment has gone up and that the cost per dialysis session has shot up from GHc200 to GHc260 and he attends three sessions a week.”

  1. Aren’t these guys a-list actors? Wonder why they seem to never have money saved for rainy days. Imagine Sandra Ankobia soliciting for funds from the general public to pay her medical bills thirty or forty years down the line. Wouldn’t people just remind her of her past lavish lifestyle and business class trips?

  3. Well at some point in everyones life we all need help and I’m not against anyone helping him besides i don’t remember him living lavishly like some of our celebs are doing now. in their days movies did not pay as much as it does now. the old actors and actresses were mostly famous but not overly well off. But then again if I’m not mistaking isn’t he the same man who openly supported President on the DUMSOR crises? well, i think just maybe he should ask MAHAMA first. I’m just saying…..
