Man Arrested For Illegally Tapping Power From An MP’s House

This recent spate of arrests of people audaciously tapping power from high places leaves me with a couple of questions.

Is it that they are trying to outdo each other, or maybe they feel the best place to steal is from those who are (presumably) already stealing the most.

Recently one man was arrested for illegally tapping power from the residence of the President. Here to give him a run for his money is one Yao Abielekpor.

According to GNA, Yao is a caretaker at the house of Mr Clement Kofi Humado, Member of Parliament (MP) for Anlo. He was arrested after an illegal connection from the MP’s house was found, connected to a water pump he uses to water his farm.

He has already been arrested for a similar offence in the past, where he was let off after paying a fine.

This time however, after paying a fine of GHc 2,345.52, he would be prosecuted as well.

  1. I can’t say I blame these guys for stealing from men in high places. It is just a case of a petty thief pilfering from an armed robber.
