Fifteen people died and more than thirty were injured Thursday evening when a series of blasts hit the north-eastern Nigerian city of Maiduguri.

In the aftermath, it has been determined that the blasts were carried out by five children; four girls and a boy who were strapped with the devices.

According to the BBC, three of them attacked a mosque in the city, whilst people where gathering around for evening prayers. One run off with the explosive into a nearby bush, killing her as the bomb detonated.

The fifth hit the house of a well known vigilante leader, who fortunately was not home at the time of the blast.

Boko Haram routinely use the children they capture as guinea pigs to carry out their atrocious acts. So either they’re being purposely raped as forced brides of being used as bomb couriers.

Makes me wonder; if these fanatics believe in what they’re saying so much why not blow themselves up, rather than using proxies.

Nigeria’s military has been regaining a lot of territory from Boko Haram in recent times, but the insurgent group continues to stubbornly persist; and Maiduguri is one of their strongholds, as that is where they are said to have began their insurgency.
