Raven-Symone was a cute kid once, on the Cosby show, and she seemed smart too; unfortunately she has not aged with that.
Since joining The View, she has gotten into trouble more than once for some ridiculous, ill thought out comments. Well, she tried her best to sound her looney best on Thursday’s show as well.
After airing a study that showed that Americans make racist assumptions about someone based on their name alone, Symone said she does not necessarily disagree with that mindset.
She said it should not be called racist to think like that, just discriminatory.
“Just to bring it back, can we take back ‘racist’ and say ‘discriminatory,’ because I think that’s a better word,” she said.
“And I’m very discriminatory against words like the ones they were saying in those names. I’m not about to hire you if your name is Watermelondrea. It’s just not going to happen. I’m not going to hire you.”
Social media exploded after those comments, which were directed at African American women. Symone as usual has remained pretty tight lipped despite the backlash.
