UK’s X-Factor is on the run with Ghana’s once popular musicians-Reggie Zippy and Bollie, now called ‘Menn on Point’ still in competition—and their fan base seems to have increased significantly as their weird performance over the weekend was still cheered to the fullest.
Over the weekend, X-Factor threw the light on the boys including the groups—which meant that, ‘Menn on Point’ walked up onto the well decorated X-Factor stage in their full swag but their performance lacked the expected coherent brilliance.
Their style is different—far from anything the audience is probably used to, so that seems to be working to their advantage.
Despite having picked an excellent song-Cheerleader from OMI, hoping to impress Cheryl with their rendition of the popular song for their audition at the Six Chair Challenge, they seemed to have gotten too excited, throwing their legs around and disconnected their performance from the song.
Nevertheless, Cheryl, Rita Ora and Simon Cowell enjoyed their performance—for us, the two are brilliant but that was a terrible performance.
After their performance, the judges said;
Nick Grimshaw: “Menn on Point – you are exciting, you’re fresh. You’re exactly what I would want to be seeing on a Saturday night on The X Factor”.
Rita Ora: “Honestly, I think that you should never change that sound you have got as there is nothing like you in this competition”
Cheryl FV: “You energy is so infectious and it has been consistently. It is one of the best energies we have had in this room all day”.
Simon Cowell: “Perfect song, love you two, but the vocals weren’t great. It could be one of those auditions when you hear back on TV and you go ‘What the bloody hell was that?’”
‘Menn on Point’ can certainly do better, and it’s time to cut the rallying of fans with their on stage antics and focus on their musical strength. The ‘clown-ness’ can only take them to just a certain point in the competition and then reality will kick him.
So they need to start showing the viewing public their actual talent—which we know they have.
