There is a proverb that paraphrased; says something like if you’ll not get praised for your own efforts, you praise yourself.

It seems it might have backfired for Ghana legend Samuel Osei Kuffour, who was presumed to be the next CEO of Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

However, speaking about the appointment before an official announcement from the club doesn’t seem to have been digested too well by the powers that be at Manhyia.

Accordingly, the club’s current board have been asked to continue their work by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II; when they paid a visit to him on Wednesday.

It was supposed to be dissolved, for a new one to be formed in its stead, headed by Kuffour. That plan seems to have been abandoned.

“Nana has asked Management to continue working. He also instructed that we open up on any challenge we will come across,” Kotoko’s spokesperson Kwaku Ahenkorah, told the club’s official website.

We were so excited for Sammy Tugah. However, we’re pretty sure he would not be down for too long.
